The UK needs beer pong
Brits have a special affinity with the stuff, but we didn't have a national beer pong tournament. They have them in America, Australia (naturally), Switzerland, Germany and even Belarus. Well that's all changed, the First Official UK Beer Pong Championship (or BritPong for short) was held in February 2016.
If you don't think beer pong is cool enough for you, just watch this video . . .

What is beer pong?
Beer pong, sometimes known as Beirut, is a drinking game in which players throw a ping pong ball across a table, with the aim of landing the ball in a cup of beer (or water or whatever other drink you might fancy).
Each team takes a turn attempting to shoot a ping pong ball into the opponent's cups which have a small amount of beer in the bottom. This keeps the cups stable when the ball hits it but fails to land inside. If a ball lands in a cup (known as a 'make'), the other team consumes the contents and the cup is removed from the table. The first team to eliminate all of the opponent's cups is the winner.

They won £5,000
We needed a badass official winner of the UK Championship 2016 to go out to Las Vegas and stand up for us Brits. We found them: The LAD Lane team of Brad Allnutt and Mark Campbell.
They like beer
That was good because there was some drinking involved.
They had seen a ping pong ball before
Helpful. In fact, they'd been playing beer pong for the last 8 years.
£5,000 in cash and a trip to Las Vegas
That's what they won, as the first official UK Beer Pong Champions they went off to Las Vegas to challenge the rest of the world. You can see just how amazing the event was . . .
